HOLY COW! After seeing no action on the bathroom renovations for a while now, tomorrow the drywaller AND the electrician are coming. Finally, some action. We also need a tiler but the soonest we can get one out here is the end of August, unless he has a cancellation. Thank God we have another bathroom. Unfortunately, it's teeny, tiny stall is like showering in a coffin.

The wind changed and carried the smoke away but the Dog Mountain fire has increased to 125 hectares and if the wind comes from the north we will be choking on the smoke again. There is a small chance of rain on Sunday but I doubt it will do much good, if it even happens. We have the massive Martin Mars water bomber sitting on Sprout lake, not far from the fire but no one in the government has a home near the fire so I doubt it will be put to use. Instead, they are bringing three little fire fighting planes and 70 firefighters from Ontario. Idiots!
