Indian Feathers

I don't think I've shown you this one yet. It's a scarf knit with lace weight, 50% merino wool and 50% silk yarn.

Here it is before blocking, stretched out across the couch.

Here it is after blocking. You can see the little pearly beads I placed at the tips of the feathers.

Here it is all scrunchied up so it will look purdy in my Etsy shop.

I'm currently working on designing a series of four baby/children's vests and have just received a commission for a pair of socks in this yarn:

That scarf is so pretty. Beads? You added beads? How does that work - do you string a whole bunch of them on the yarn when you start and bring them along into the work? Wow, very impressive.

I use a crochet hook because stringing the beads on the yarn can ruin the yarn if just one of those beads has a little sharp piece inside it. Also, they can end up on the wrong side of your knitting when you sting them on the yarn.
