Curses! Foiled Again

Just when I think I have DH all figured out. Just when I think there will never be any more surprises because he is just too predictable......
I was physically feeling so much better but a bit down because although it was my birthday the celebration part was being postponed for a week. This meant that in DH's mind he had another week's grace to find me a gift and order a cake. The only thing I had to look forward to was the smattering of cards and gifts that had arrived in the mail over the past week. When he got home from work I was delighted to discover my sweetheart, Mr. Predictable, had brought with him a birthday card,

a lovely flower arrangement

and two slices of pizza, leftover from his office's Saturday lunch. The flowers are beautiful. The card is so mushy and sweet it brought tears to my eyes BUT the pizza was like manna from Heaven. Yummmmmm
I asked if he could go out for some milk for the cream of broccoli soup and he asked if there was anything else I needed so I said yes, some cake and ice cream. He came home with a two serving piece of Black Forest Cake (my favourite) and a small container of that really expensive but extra delicious ice cream (maple walnut). So for my birthday dinner I had homemade (No cans were used in the making of this soup) cream of broccoli soup, pizza, cake and ice cream. After which, I opened my cards and gifts. Also, DH had been thinking of my birthday present because he told me I could buy myself one of those big things I want for spinning aka a jumbo flyer with bobbins that attaches to my spinning wheel.

You don't need to know what it is or what it does just that it makes me jiggle with excitement, knowing I'm getting one.

One has to be in good health to enjoy little ones. DH did good.

Believe me. Most of the time I know how lucky I am but occasionally he needs to remind me.
We would enjoy meeting you. Maybe someday....

It sounds like a wonderful birthday celebration with just the two of you. Next week with the family will be fun in a different way, all those grandchildren gushing over you.
