Broken

The M-I-L is in the hospital with four broken ribs due to all the falls she'd had. Her doctor duck examined her just before she moved into the assisted living mansion. Do you think he noticed she had four broken ribs? Nooooo. It was a nurse at the mansion who thought she might have damaged ribs. It was the mansion who got her into the hospital for x-rays. Where is The M-I-L's quack? He's probably at the golf club sipping cocktails with his cronies. Grrr

Also broken is the 22 year old hunk-a-junk I've been driving. It has automatic windows and yesterday when I pressed the buttons to close the windows the whole panel fell down into the arm rest. Now the driver's window is permamently closed, the front passenger window has always been tricky (sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't) and the two back windows can only be opened or closed by the buttons on their respective armrests, while the engine is running or the battery is turned on. It's supposed to be 28C on Monday and 31C on Tuesday. Sob...

Hope your MIL is feeling better. And, hey, I had a real clunker for a lot of years. It' looked like ...well, I won't say it...and things were falling off it like dandruff. Two missing hubcaps, no window handle knobs, no radio knobs, a headlight aiming down and the other aiming up, a broken seatbelt with the cable hanging out...but that darn thing started in every kind of weather, never over-heated or stalled out, and just purred like a kitten. I actually miss the darn old thing, except I don't miss how bad it looked.

Hope your MIL feels better soon, that must hurt. I had to look up the conversion on tempurture to figure out what you were talking about.. it's warm here too..heat index of 105 +...that would be like 40.1C for you I think.

Hope your MIL heals quick and feels better soon as I guess she was in alot of discomfort if not pain.

I used to have a beat up old car too - used to have to park on a hill just incase she wouldn't start and needed a bump start. Also had to be ready to use the choke after coming off a motor way - she just couldn't handle the drop in petrol getting into her bits!!

Sounds as if the place you MIL is in now is quite thorough... that's gotta be a good sign.

Isn't that something about those broken ribs. Is she in a lot of pain?

Looks like one of my cars. I drove it - with rusted out floor-board - in the back seat, until I was afraid I might leave one of my kids on the freeway. Then hubby bought me another car. Ha!! I put card-b oard under the floor mats to keep the kids in.

I probably spent the first forty years of my life in "hunk-a-junks" so I can sympathize! Hey, it beats a car payment!
