As the 39th Port Alberni Salmon Festival comes to a close we discover who caught the biggest fish and the winner of the $10,000.00 is John Robertson with his 40.3lb Chinook!

Are they going to smoke it or can it? The one I caught at Koksilah was almost that big, yuk! yuk!

All winning fish become the property of the Salmon Festival Society.

I don't know what they do with them every year. I do know one of the winners was stuffed, mounted and hangs over the fireplace in the lobby of a local hotel. Of course there's a fish heaven.
