100 Mile Fleece & Fibre Sale
100 Mile Fleece & Fibre Sale
I had to give the Craft Market a miss yesterday. There was a fibre sale in Errington that I just had to go to. I missed it the first year because DH and I had the flu. The second was a surreal experience; imagining heaven. The third year, last year, I didn't go because I had more than enough fleece and fibre to sustain me until this year. Yesterday was fantastic and I got all of this for only $120.00.
Beginning at the back left: Almost 1 lb. of various shades of peach, pink, green and brown rovings for spinning. Beside that is just over a full lb. of ice blue rovings. Next is a row of Country Roving Wool. This is the wool I use when knitting Cowichan style sweaters, hats, slippers, etc. The lady I bought it from was getting rid of her defunct yarn shop stock. I got them for a steal at $4.50 each. In front of those is a skein of lace weight I thought might match one of my skirts but it doesn't. :o( It was the most expensive item I purchased at the sale. double :o( Right at the bottom are some coils for holding my DPNs (Double Pointed Needles) together.
After the sale we went to Art Knapp's (Nursery) in Nanaimo and bought another four bushes for the north side of the house. Then we were off to the Longwood Brew Pub for lunch. We had just ordered dessert when who walks in but my mom and sister so we finished our lunch at their table and got caught up on all the news. My sister told us about her artwork hanging in a local gallery so DH and I toddled off to find it. She is unbelievably talented so, of course, DH and I each voted for her "Life of an Apple" sketch as our favourite.
Yes, yesterday was fantastic!
