I Don't Wanna Go

Tomorrow is the last Crafters Market for this year and

I don't wanna go.

The weather is not cooperating. This is the latest forecast: Sunday
Periods of rain ending late in the afternoon then cloudy. Amount 15 to 25 mm. Wind becoming southwest 40 to 60 km/h in the morning then light late in the afternoon. High 14.
Translation: Wet, windy and cold.

I don't wanna go

but I have to because

the cruise ship Amsterdam is docking at Port Alberni for the day. The normal passenger load is 1,380. If they all come through the Crafters Market they could clean me out. Oh, wouldn't that be nice.lol But that won't happen and besides,

I don't wanna go.

I'm tired of it. I am so done with getting up early every Sunday and hauling all the totes, tables and tent parafinalia over to Harbour Quay.

I don't wanna go.

I can't take my spinning wheel out in inclement weather. I don't want to sit there knitting for FIVE friggin' hours.

I don't wanna go.

Last week it was so bloody cold and all the other venders were complaining about how cold they were but do you think any of them bought any of my warm, woolly wears? Not a one.

I don't wanna go.

However, Norman will be there with his lovely hot chocolate and the Homestead Cookhouse will be serving buffalo burgers....

OK, maybe I will go.....just this last time......until next year.

According to oceanmarinespace.com "Port Alberni Harbour is one of the finest deep sea inland harbours on the North American Continent and is the closest deep sea port to the Pacific Rim. Vessels up to and including panamax size can easily navigate the Alberni Inlet."

We had a torrential downpour and the wind blew all the Tupperware lady's stuff off her table but it was great! I swear all 1,380 cruise ship passengers came through the Craft Market.DH had to spell me while I went for some lunch. (He enjoys telling people he knit everything.)

Well, I hope you survived the day and did some selling, too. After some time off, you will be all charged for the next season.

I can't believe after selling so much stuff this summer, I still have the same seven full totes I started with.

Good luck with your sales and hope you don't get too chilly. We are off today to the San Juans for my birthday trip. The forecast here is for rain and strong winds. Yuck! I've made sure to pack warm and dry wear and hope our B&Bs are cozy.

Have a great time. I'll be mailing your presents tomorrow. No, they are not late. I knew you wouldn't be home on your birthday. Happy Birthday!

I know how you feel, I would go through the same thought process, and then I would end up going because I didn't want to miss out on whatever might happen, even if it turned out to be nothing.

I hope the weatherman lied. Besides, the visitors from the ship may recognise you from that late night talk show.....

Just one more time this year... and think of all those ship passengers who will be cold and needing your wonderful warm fuzzies cuz they didn't pack the right stuff. Fingers crossed for a sell-out. Wouldn't it be neat if Norman or the Cookhouse offered a little discount for everyone who bought your warm wooly wares? Time to negotiate a deal, I think....

I've bought things from most of the regular vendors but then, I'm a shopoholic.
