Walking the Track

No, not the rail road tracks. The track at the local stadium. The (train crazy) Three Year Old thinks I go for long walks down the train track and wants desperately to come with me some day. He's going to be mightily disappointed. So, as I was saying, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and it was a glorious day. I hopped in the car and drove over to the stadium. By the time I got there, a few rain drops had splattered on my windshield. As I start my second time around the track the rain is getting to be annoying and I'm starting to feel wet. During my third time around I'm being pelted with hail. By the fourth circuit the precipitation has stopped altogether and the sun is trying to peek out. I spent the next two circuits trudging along huddled in my jacket, hood up, cold, raw hands stuffed in my pockets while the torrential downpour reminded me why I dislike walking the track.

Yes, it IS changeable here in the North West. We go for walks on the bike path along the river when we can. Sometimes when we start out to drive there it is bright sunny but too rainy, cold, or windy by the time we get there on the other side of town. We, however, do not walk anyway; we usually go get something to eat. Hope Spring is up there today - we see the geese heading your way

I totally understand, you know I'm an avid walker, but I walk my neighborhood. Then I get some variety to what I see. It's fun.

You made me feel so guilty...I haven't been on a real walk in almost a week. That's it! Time to get out the walking shoes...the great outdoors is waiting!

way to stick with it. the rain would have been okay ('cept for being cold....brrrrr!) but that hail.....man that stuff hurts! me? - i would have had bruises from the hail!!! stick with it for sure!

what determination! I think the hail would have stopped me! which reminds me, I need to go for my morning walk!

Did that myself Saturday here in town - 3hr 7 min for walking 13+ miles - for me and my injuries that is my best. Some runners do this in just over 1 hr.
