Yesterday, DH and I went for a stroll along the 25km/15.5 mile Log Train Trail. It was a beautiful day for a walk but, unfortunately, I forgot to take my walking stick and after only 20 minutes my hip began to ache so we had to turn back. If the weather is still nice next weekend we will try again, with my stick and some bear bells.
It's a very loooong trail.
Sights along the way.
Canada Geese
See: https://vancouverislandbeyondvictoria.com/?p=647 for the history. It's quite interesting.

Sounds like a great hike! I hope you can make it all the way next time. Be sure to share pics!
It is nice to be outside. The horses and the Geese look so content.
Looks super nice. I only have dogs to worry about. Usually deer and cows don't attack!
I've always wondered if what you called those geese up there in Canada. Seems like 'Geese' would be adequate since that's where they came from.
Great looking trail. I never hike without my walking pole, a light weight aluminum job. It gives me a boost going up and acts as a brake going down.
Nice. We're getting trails like that around here. Up til now it's been mostly hiking trails into the high peaks. Nice hikes but too much like work for some people (Including me these days).
