The Last of the Vacation Doings

Honest! I promise this will be the last one.

The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada in Summerside, PEI puts on a wonderful show of piping, drums, fiddling, singing, highland dancing and step dancing they call Highland Storm.

Not one of the better B&Bs.....Just kidding. This is Doucet House at Rustico purported to be the oldest house on Prince Edward Island.

This is a photo, I plucked off the web, of it before it's restoration.

Belfast Mini Mills, Belfast. PEI.
Not as interesting as MacAusland's Woolen Mill. We were given a rushed peek at the mill and then hussled over to the shop which was very upscale and expensive.

This is the back room where they had floor looms set up and hold classes on various fibre arts; Spinning, weaving, felting, etc.

Panmure Island Provincial Park beach and lighthouse.

Kings County Courthouse in Georgetown, PEI.

St Margaret's of Scotland Roman Catholic Church

Lismore Sheep Farm and wool shop. Home of the River John Needle Co. River John, Nova Scotia.

I have two more photos but I can't reduse the size enough to post them on MyBloggers. So, that's it for this year.

It's unlikely I'll ever be canonized.

I've loved all the photos and commentary about your trip east. I think its remarkable that you can get DH to visit all these yarn mills and shops. I feel very lucky if husband is willing to visit one scrapbooking store on a trip. We haven't been out to the Maritimes for almost 30 years but from the look of things we should be considering a trip there soon. We were there in the fall (October) and it was very hard to find B&Bs. Many had closed for the season in September and those that were still open were booked up by tour groups doing the Fall Colours tours. Next time we'll book more things in advance.

So enjoyed the shots of your holiday this year! Great photos. You really captured the character of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. Thank for sharing it all — dreaming of traveling there!

I love these pictures. They still do step dancing in Appalachia.

It's wonderful to watch.

The quality of your pictures is so good - vibrant colors. The one of the beach and lighthouse looks like a calendar shot.

DH thanks you for your praise. He takes such great scenic photos. Why can't he take a decent picture of me?
