I remembered the camera this time but I wasn't the only one. A fellow came by and video taped us. He said he'll be putting it up on YouTube. I'll post the link for you if I can find it. A lady from the Alberni Valley News stopped by to snap a few pics so we should be in next week's newspaper too.
I snapped this photo early on before a few others showed up to knit.
Some folks thought this was a protest sign and beeped their horns at us as they drove by. The sun wasn't out much and there was a cold wind blowing so we didn't even last two hours but the rain held off and I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed themselves. I'm looking forward to next year's World Knit in Public Week.

There is another fiber event at the end of August. It's really more about llamas and alpacas and the breeders trying to get you to buy a pair of them for $1600 each, but around the edges there are booths with spinning going on and yarn/finished goods for sale. It's very low-key, and you can pet the animals if you want.
You're right, I did miss the wool market because we were so excited about the fire. Plus, nobody to go with. If you'd been here, we'd have gone for sure.
When will that week be? Traveltales will post a picture of crochet thing in Las Vegas.
