This morning I received a message through Etsy. Hoping it was a prospective customer I opened it right away and read this:
"Re: Your Shetland Shawl Pattern. What is the center square? Is it knitted also?"
This is the Shetland Shawl she is referring to.
I politely replied with:
"Hi, Yes, the centre square is also knit. This shawl has no crochet. Marg
I was thinking I might have another sale but then she sent:
"So, is that a knit one row, pearl one row?"
At this, I looked her up on Etsy and discovered she has just opened an Etsy Shop and is selling "baby sweater sets and blankets". So I very politly replied with:
"Hi, I would be delighted to sell you a copy of my pattern. It's only $5.00. You may knit my Shetland lace Shawl and sell the finished garment in your Etsy store as the copyright only pertains to the pattern itself. Marg"
I haven't heard from her since and I'm not holding my breath but I am wondering why the cheap cow didn't just come out with, "Send me a free copy of your pattern." in the first place.

When you check her shop, break some windows...
What a cheapskate. I hope you give incorrect information to the next questioner.
Pretty sharp that you thought to look her up. Sounds like she was hoping to make and sell them herself.
$5 is such a small price, I am astonished she would balk at paying it. It's a really beautiful shawl. She is likely to try it anyway, with what she knows, don't you think?
