We left the house only ten minutes late and arrived at Little River five minutes early. The "Check Engine" light came on 20 minutes out of Port Alberni but the car's electrical system is gimped too so we ignored it and it, eventually, went off again. The ferry to Powell River was, of course, ten minutes late leaving.
WARNING! Do not lean forward while sitting on the auto flush toilets on BC Ferries. Your dairy-air will be sprayed with whatever is in the toilet bowl when you lean forward and you will have to wait until you get to your evening's accommodations before you can shower and change.

At 12:30 we discovered a pretty, little, waterside park where we stopped for a picnic lunch. Then we continued on to the Saltery Bay ferry terminal to catch the Queen of Tsawwassen to Earls Cove.

Looks like an interesting trip so far. I read that whole sign you have posted there and I know I wouldn't mind seeing the area for myself. I love ferry rides, so...yep, it sounds good to me!
I have another toilet warning. The chemical toilets on the alpine trail in the Rockies freeze your hiney because they get a frigid up draft.
Thanks for the toilette warning Marg. You are so funny.
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing your vacation. I have absolutely no idea where that is, but it is gorgeous!
Oh the oh so apropo Ads by Google. The one I'm looking at now screams, "Flush Valve"! Looks like a lot of fun. I've been considering a "real" vacation to the states one of these days. I'd like to return to the DC area. Something about it fascinates me, despite all the low-belly snakes crawling around. Gonna move over and look at your next installment.
I *love* taking a vehicle on the ferry. It's a little scary too -- with the BC Ferry that sank, and the accident where the ferry pulled away while a van was trying to board, and the van fell into the ocean.
