DH wanted to hike in to see the Skoocumchuck Saltwater Rapids. The sign said it was a one hour hike and we assumed it was for the return trip. It wasn't. It took us an hour to hike into the rapids and most of the trail was down hill over tree roots and rocks.

It took me an hour and a half and one foot cramp to hike back, remember now, it's all up hill, to the car. It only took DH an hour and a quarter and he kept stopping to look at stuff aka waiting for me to come into sight all the way back. For the rest of the trip my right foot ached and threatened to cramp again and I won't even mention the agony I suffered with my aching calves and hips. We didn't get to The Cedars Motor Inn, in Gibsons, until 9:00pm. We checked in and then went for dinner at Molly's Reach, the restaurant made famous by the TV show, The Beachcombers, that ran from 1972 - 1990. I think most of of the main characters have passed away by now. The service was great and the food was artery bustin' delicious.

We got back to The Cedars around 11:00pm, watched the news and fell into bed exhausted.

Looks like a great area for exploring...I would love it! And, yes, Molly's Reach...I'd be right in line for going there. I'm enjoying your trip so far!
Lovely! I can see why you are experiencing pain!!!!!!!!!
Great pics Marg. It looks like beautiful scenery.
My gosh that's purty! I would love to be able to make that hike, but even an all terrain scooter trip there would be scary, Thanks for bringing back pictures! What a shame it was a pain in the foot. I know from foot pain. I'm awful sorry you hurt.
How cold is that water? ( indegrees )
Hey, I've been to Molly's Reach! We even found a discarded script from The Beachcombers.
