The Neighbours
The house next door sat empty all winter. The previous owners were asking too much for it but had already moved on to their new home in a new town.....lucky buggers. I don't know if the price was lowered or if these new neighbours were willing to be overcharged. They moved in a month or two ago and I was over the moon with the fact they were an older, recently retired couple. I don't know much about them. I haven't met them formally but I did wave once as we were both getting into our respective cars at the same time. These are the people with the three Shelties. I blogged about them not too long ago. They were letting their dogs out at 5:00AM and when the little beasts started barking She would start hollering at them to be quiet. I was tempted to holler out our, wide open, bedroom window that it was OK 'cause they'd already woken us up. This morning I was dragged, kicking and screaming from dreamland at 6:55 by Him playing with lumber. Why do men think they are being quiet because they are only hitting the nail once every 10 seconds instead of banging away at it? At least the whining table saw shut the bloody birds up. I can't figure out what he is building. DH thinks he is trying to block off their back yard to cats. Apparently one of their dumb dogs enjoys the taste of cat poop before barfing it up. Now I'm having thoughts of what time of night would be best to fling our litter box deposits over the hedge. I can see myself ignoring them when they talk to me and then saying I didn't want to ruin their illusion that I am deaf. DH and I figure they probably retire to bed no later then 9:30PM. I'm wondering what kind of nightly ruckus we could create around 11:00PM. It can't be any later because that's when DH goes to bed. I'm open to any and all suggestions.
