Lots of Stuff Happening
On Saturday my sister, Lynda (Islander), came for a short visit. She arrived with one bag of booze and one bag of her beautiful Sheltie's dog hair. We sat around drinking coffee and chatting for a while and then we went to check out the Rolling Art Centre, a local gallery that showcases local artisans. Then we made a stop at my local yarn shop, Let's Knit, where we both indulged ourselves. Lynda bought some lovely coloured yarn and I got myself something I've had my eye on for a while.

A yarn bowl. The curlicue cutout allows the yarn to be pulled out without the ball rolling all over the floor.
I also bought the luscious yarn in the bowl. Someone will buy these gorgeous fingerless mitts, I'm sure.
Then she took me for a delicious lunch at The Water's Edge. The chicken Cesar wrap I ordered was too big but was it ever good. We dallied over lunch and on our way home stopped at a new store in town. I'd heard they were looking for local crafts to sell in their shop but it turned out to be a small 2nd hand store. Back home, we knit and talked and talked and knit until DH suggested a tour of the area so Lynda got to see more than just shops (my area of expertise). Then it was home again to dine on semi-homemade chicken soup and whole wheat buns.
The evening consisted of more yakking (Lynda, you really must get on Skype) and then we were off to bed as Sunday we had to get up early for the Crafters' Market.
We were up at 7:00AM and there was the usual flurry of activity before leaving the house at 8:00. DH and I set up the shelter and Lynda and I set out my merchandise. It was my best day ever. I sold Lambert the sheep, one set of stitch markers, a skein of my handspun and dyed wool and a dishcloth to some young fellow who had just bought three from another vendor but he liked mine more. DH came back at 2:00PM and packed everything into his truck and we headed home. Not long after we said our goodbyes and Lynda drove off home. I'm looking forward to visiting her next year.
To be continued.....
