A Hard Day's Work

I spent six hours on this today. It's crap! The wool is very course and full of short bits and noils. Noils are the short strands and knots found in some fibre. They resemble the pills on an old sweater. I really wanted to sell this stuff but I doubt anyone would buy it. I'll put it on my table but if it hasn't sold by the time the Crafters' Market shuts down for the Winter I'll make a tote bag or purse and felt it.

Carded batts.

Spun yarn.

How dissapointing.:o(

It looks like a Monet water color to me. It may be hard to spin but it is
still pretty. Frame it.

From a distance it looks green. I'm sure some knitter will like it.

Nuts. I meant to say ...in a complementary way.

Either way is good.

The batts look weird, but the combination in the spun yard is really effective. I meant that in a "complimentary" way.....

It looks good to the untrained eye (I hope) but it's not spinning up very nice.

Sounds like you had the same kind of day as me, starting off with high hopes and energy, spent hours trying to graft a sock. Now I know what they mean when they say "Sock it to me"Too bad about your yarn, sometimes it is hard to tell till it's carded, I think felting is a good idea.I finally found your Grafting instructions, maybe tommorrow will be better.

I bought the blue wool at last September's fibre festival in Nanaimo for #13.75/195g. I thought that was a good price for rovings but when I opened the bag to spin it up I discovered it was uncarded wool. It was labeled Wool for Wellies. The yellow was free from a lady in my Knitting Circle. Now I know why she was so anxious to get rid of it.

You did a good job with the colors. Sometimes blurry can be interpreted as artistic.

I still need to do some more carding and spin three more bobbins full.

Judging from the second photo the image stabilizer on my camera is crap too.
