Happy Birthday To

DD#1's 6 year old. DH and I went over to her in-law's for burgers, cake and ice cream.

When I asked him if he felt a year older he looked mildly surprised and said no, he still felt like he was five.

The Six Year Old's 11 month old brother. He just got his helmut to help reshape his head.

I'm off to a good start on the Queen Anne's Lace shawl. Here it is at row 30.

I understand about SIDS but it does seem that the solution has created more problems than it has solved. Was SIDS an epidemic? Nobody wore a helmet when I was growing up and there weren't a lot of kids dying from SIDS either.

I am somewhat uninformed about the need for reshaping a head. Elsewise, good-looking kids. Didn't you once say your DDs didn't want their kids' photos posted? Maybe that was another blogger. That is a lovely shawl.

That's DD#2 who doesn't want photos of her kids on the internet. These are DD#1's boys.
I forgot to mention, having a flat head causes facial deformities as it pushes the facial bones out of place .

Beginning in the early 1990's parents were told to lay their babies on their backs to reduce the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). This caused an epidemic of flat headed babies. The helmut prevents further misshaping of the soft skull bones and if used early enough will reverse the damage. My grandson needs to wear his helmut 23 hours a day for the next seven to eight months. The neck muscles on his left side were too short so, no matter how my daughter laid him down he always turned his head to the same position. Bit late with my greetings to the Birthday boy, just mailed it today, it looks like he is enjoying his treats. Nice pictures.

Boys are so different from girls. Little Buddy is quite cognizant of getting older and WANTS to grow up as fast as she can. Little boys, I think, are content to stay young and be Mommy's boys. Precious grandchildren; really cute kids, Grandma.

My friend's daughter had to wear a helmet for almost a year to help reshape her head, it made a big difference. She is almost 5 now and unless her hair is wet you hardly notice it now.
