Butter Tart Squares
Base:
3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
Combine base ingredients until crumbly. Press into bottom of ungreased 8 inch pan. Bake at 350F, for 12 to 15 minutes.
Topping:
3 tbsp butter
1 cup brown sugar *Not packed*
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup currents
1/4 cup chopped or ground walnuts
1/2 tsp vanilla
Cream butter and sugar; add egg, salt,currents,walnuts and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Pour over baked base. Bake at 375F until browned.
