Bigleaf Maple Syrup Festival
Bigleaf Maple Syrup Festival
This morning we headed down to Duncan to partake in the festival but when we arrived we were told the parking lot was full and we would have to go to the old Rona building where we could park out car and catch a shuttle back to the festival grounds. DH asked, "Where's the old Rona building?" and was told to go down there and turn right, with some vague hand gestures thrown in for good measure. He tried following the cars in front of him but we never did find the old Rona building so we went for lunch at the White Spot, instead. After lunch we found a yarn shop, The Loom.
I had a good look around the very small, very expensive shop that was overflowing with every yarn you would ever need and came away with two balls of sock yarn, four cards of reinforcing yarn for socks and a box of knitting pins. DH amused himself by checking out the wicker furniture shop and the leather furniture shop. Next we stopped at a large, two story 2nd hand store. They didn't have any yarn to speak of but I did find a couple of nice Aran sweater patterns. Then we headed home and both of us agreed that we'd had a very nice time, in spite of missing out on the Maple Syrup Festival.
