So Quiet

All alone am I ever since your goodbye
All alone with just a beat of my heart

This is not how I envisioned Christmas Day. DD#2, her three kiddies, her hubby, DH, his mother and me; that's how it was supposed to be. Ah well, the best laid plans of mice and men, eh? DH called The MIL at noon to let her know what time he would be picking her up and discovered she'd had another fall, in her room, and wasn't up to the long car ride. He has gone over to see her anyway and he took DD#2 and the great granddaughter we believe she's forgotten she has. The Baby was born in October and The MIL hasn't seen her yet so we figure she's forgotten about her existence (which is understandable considering her age, 86, and dwindling memory).

I'm keeping busy, though. The turkey is in he oven. The stuffing has been started (I don't stuff the bird). I've made a good start on my Christmas chocolates and mini bottle of Bailey's coffee flavoured Irish Cream.

Peaches is anxious for his turkey bits. He has been following me around all day plaintively yowling. I keep telling him I have to cook it first but he says he doesn't mind fresh, raw bird. Angel has spent most of the day playing with bows and ribbons and chattering at the birds flying around outside.

Well, I guess lonely old me will just go knit something now. I hope everyone is having a Very Happy Christmas.<3

The boyz got their turkey neck and guts for dinner. I gave Buster his and Donna gave Benny his. Looks like Christmas has something for everybody. Unfortunately we have leftover turkey, and I picked the smallest one I could find. Have a good one...

you didn't call her, angel who isn't! has her attitude changed? our turkey is also cooking, almost done. I can't have Christmas without turkey, even though we had ham last night. don't want to get on a scale anytime soon. enjoy the rest of your Christmas.
