Happy Anniversary

Today is DH's and my Wedding Anniversary. I can't believe it's been 33 years since we said, "I do." So much has happen over the years; children, moves, illnesses, deaths, grandchildren. I love him so much more today than I did in 1976 although that thought was inconceivable then. We got married in my parent's home in New Westminster. My Old Sister was my Matron of Honour and Baby Sister was my Bridesmaid. Just six weeks earlier, DH had moved to a new job in Kamloops. He took all my furniture and found us an apartment and I moved back home with my parents. Being a new employee, he couldn't ask for time off to get married so he drove down from Kamloops, after work on Friday the 13th and spent the night at his folks in West Vancouver. He'd got a cracked windshield on the way down and had to stop off to get it replaced before the wedding. He was almost late for our nuptials. That was one of the few times he's been on time.

The happy couple.

The (fruit)cake was baked my mom and decorated by a neighbour. DH and I picked out the cake topper.

The exhausted bride.

The next morning, Sunday, February 15th, we packed up his little, Chevy Vega with suitcases, wedding gifts and my budgie and drove up to Kamloops to begin married life together.
