February 14, 1976 was one of the happiest days of my life. Don had just started a new job, in Kamloops, six weeks before and was not entitled to any time off so he drove down to Vancouver on the Friday night, after work, and slept at his parents house. The morning of our wedding day he called me to say his windshield had been cracked on the way down and he was going to get it repaired before the ceremony, which was being held at my parents home in New Westminster. I had visions of the minister and guests leaving before the groom arrived but he assured me he would be on time and he was. It was a lovely, small wedding that took place in the livingroom. Don and I had written our own vows. It was a magical day. Our wedding night was spent at Vancouver's prestigious Bayshore Inn where they eventually found us a room after losing our reservation. Skipping to the next day, we loaded up Don's car with our wedding gifts, luggage and my budgie and drove up to Kamloops to begin married life together.

What a lovely story, almost a fairy tale.
I hope we didn't miss anything with that "skipping to the next day" business. CGTS
You look so pretty in all these pictures. And getting married on Valentine's Day means nobody (husband) can forget the date.
