Christmas Dinner

No appetizers for us. We prefer to save room for dessert so we dive right in to the main course of oven roasted turkey, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, sausage stuffing, turkey gravy and cranberry sauce. For dessert we shall have an assortment of shortbread cookies (finally made today), butter tart squares, Nanaimo bars and thanks to kitchentales, a Crosse & Blackwell plum pudding with hard sauce.

Is a bunch of your family coming for that nice dinner? I hadn't thought about a made-ahead pudding. I think it'd be just as good as homemade and much less bother. My real mincemeat is in Colorado, and thinking about Kevin's mince pies made me regret leaving it there. Next summer I'll make some and call it Christmas in July.

We're having a Christmas for two this year. I bought two turkeys so we can have Christmas in July too.

Butter tart squares are baking as I type. Can you smell them?
