New Baby and I'm Not Sleeping Much
Good God no! The New Baby isn't mine and he's not the reason I'm not sleeping much. We have two grandchildren under the age of one so our granddaughter, born last October, will be designated Old Baby and our new grandson, born just before we went on vacation, will be New Baby; at least until Old Baby becomes The One Year Old. New Baby is four weeks old today and I took some pictures of him yesterday when he and his family came to visit.

Remember the pack of barking dogs that gets let out at 5:00 AM? Well, we think someone complained to the by-law officer in late July because all of a sudden the dogs weren't let loose until 7:01 AM. Our town's noise by-law extends from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. It was still a bit too early for my liking but I'll take what I can get. Last night, however, was the pits. Peaches, my insecure feline started yowling in the wee hours and I had to put him on the bed with me an pet him until he decided to let me go back to sleep. About an hour later he did it again. It was overly windy last night and the dog neighbour's wind chimes kept me awake with their clanging and banging for almost two hours. Then they had the nerve to let the bloody pack of Shelties out at 6:30 AM. I'm exhausted. Fortunately there is nothing pressing that needs to be done today. I don't even have to cook any meals as DH is volunteering at the Port Alberni Salmon Festival until Monday afternoon. I just might have a nap today.

I almost forgot to mention that Port Alberni is the Salmon Capital of the world.
