
This easy to knit shawl can be made super easy by eliminating the colour changes.
Materials: Colour A (green) 100g/3.5 oz fingering weight yarn (393m/430 yds)
Colour B (variegated) 200g/7 oz fingering weight yarn (608m/664 yds)
1 circular needle size 4.5mm/ US
Darning needle
Size: 152.5cm/60 in X 91.5cm/36 after blocking
Tension: 20 sts X 26 rows with size 4.5mm/6 US needles = 10cm/4 inch
square
Instructions:
With colour A cast on 4 sts.
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Knit into front and back of each stitch. (8 sts)
Rows 3 – 5: Knit.
Row 6: *K1, yo* repeat to last stitch, knit into front and back of last stitch. (16 sts)
Rows 7 – 11: Knit.
Row 12: Same as row 6. (32 sts)
Rows 13 – 17: Knit.
Row 18: K1, *yo, k2tog* repeat to last stitch, k1.
Rows 19 – 23: Knit.
Row 24: Same as row 6. (64 sts)
Rows 25 – 27: Knit.
Row 28: Increase by 12 sts evenly across row. (76 sts)
Change to colour B.
Rows 29 - 30: Knit.
Row 31: K2, (k2tog) 3 times, *(yo, k1) 6 times, (k2tog) 6 times*. Repeat from * to * to last 12 sts, (yo, k1) 6 times, (k2tog) 3 times, k2.
Row 32: Knit.
Rows 33 – 44: Repeat rows 29 to 32 3 times.
Change to colour A
Rows 45 - 48: Knit.
Row 49: K2, (k1, yo) repeat to last 2 stitches, k2. (148 sts)
Row 50 - 52: Knit
Change to colour B
Rows 53 – 64: Same as rows 29 – 44.
Change to colour A
Rows 65 – 66: Knit.
Change to colour B
Rows 67 – 82: Same as rows 29 – 44.
Change to colour A
Rows 83 – 90: Same as rows 45 – 52. (292 sts)
Change to colour B
Rows 91 – 106: Same as rows 29 – 44.
Change to colour A
Rows 107 – 108: Knit.
Change to colour B
Rows 109 – 124: Same as rows 29 – 44.
Change to colour A
Rows 125 – 126: Knit.
Change to colour B
Rows 127 – 142: Same as rows 29 – 44.
Change to colour A
Rows 143 – 150: Knit.
Change to colour B
Rows 151 – 166: Same as rows 29 – 44.
Change to colour A
Rows 167 – 168: Knit
Change to colour B
Rows 169 – 176: Same as rows 29 – 36.
Change to colour A
Rows 177 – 184: Same as rows 45 – 52. (580 sts)
Picot Edging:
With colour A
Cast off 2 sts, (slip 1 stitch from right needle to left needle, cast on 2 stitches, cast off 5 stitches) repeat until all stitches have been worked. Weave in loose ends.

Tip:
When blocking, pin out every fifth picot evenly around bottom edge of shawl.
