I'd been looking forward to Wednesday for a while and it was all I had hoped for and more. Every year Mom and Kim come to Port Alberni around my birthday but I didn't expect that to happen this year as Mom doesn't drive and Kim's broken arm isn't up to such a long, highway drive. However, Lynda decided to visit with Mom this week and brought them along for a visit with me.

Lynda took us out for my Birthday lunch to The Water's Edge Restaurant down at Harbour Quay. The only photo I could find has the Handi Dart bus parked in front of the restaurant but there is a gorgeous view of the Alberni Inlet from inside.

After lunch I opened my lovely, tasty and interesting presents and after some more chatting my mother and sisters left for home. I had a wonderful day and as an added bonus all the stress I've been having over the not-quite-six-feet-shawl, the digital cable box fiasco and the guilt I've been feeling over the unstained closet doors and unpainted walls dissipated and I had the best sleep in a long time last night, sans sleeping pills. It helped that my shawl customer emailed that she had received the shawl and loves it, and the cable guy showed up just before my guests and took away the digital cable box. Maybe I'll finish a closet door tomorrow.
