Today, Tomorrow and a Few Days After That
Today I baked Banana Oatmeal Muffins for our Christmas breakfast. The recipe made a dozen so I gave a couple to the carpenter to have with his coffee. I made DH's lunch and entertained DD#1 and her two sons, The Five Year Old and The Baby. Her allergies are worse than mine so before she came I dusted and vacuumed the downstairs. I painted the quarter round for the base of the basement door and stained two eight foot sections of quarter round for the base of the front door and the sliding glass door to the deck. Tonight will be a quicky dinner, beans on toast or some such thing because we will be putting up the tree. We bought a new tree stand this year. It's our second since we were married. I told DH I refused to have anything to do with that metal contraption. You know the one. Just as you get the fouth leg into position the first leg shifts.

Ours was all rusty in the bottom.
I can't find a picture of our new stand but it's all plastic with a very wide base and a large water cup AND there's no assembly except for screwing in the big screws.
Tomorrow I will make two batches of Nanaimo Bars, one for us and one for DD#1.

If the carpenter is finished installing the baseboards in the laundry room I can make a dent in the hamper.
Wednesday I have an appointment for a hair cut. I have the Butter Tart Bars to make. I'm only making one batch. I can feel my teeth rotting just thinking about them.

I will finish the laundry I didn't get done the day before and if the carpenter has finished the baseboards in my craft room I can start putting my yarn and stuff back and hopefully organizing it as I go.
Thursday I will clean the house and go shopping for the perishable groceries needed for our Christmas dinner. A quick shower and rummage through my clothes to find something that shows off the weight I've lost and then it's off the DD#1's Annual Christmas Eve Soirée. Note to self: Do Not forget to take the Nanaimo Bars!
Do Not forget to fill DH's stocking!
*I was shocked to discover I am not super woman and will not be painting the bathroom. There simply isn't enough time.*
Christmas Day DH and I will open our stocking and gush over what Santa has left for us. Then we eat the Banana Oatmeal Muffins. Back in the livingroom we open our gifts, keeping tissue paper out of the kitties' reach and showering them with bows and ribbon. We also make a few paper tents for them to crawl under. Lunch usually consits of Peanut M&Ms, candy canes and boxed chocolates. I prepare the turkey and get it in the oven. Then I start on the stuffing. I don't actually have a recipe. I just toss in the appropriate amount of torn bread, seasonings, an egg or two, cooked sausage meat, onion, sliced water chestnuts, chopped apple and chicken broth. While making the stuffing I usually imbibe a small mug or two of Bailey's Irish Cream. I have no idea when our guests will start arriving but there will be DD#1, her hubby and two son's, DD#2, her hubby, two sons and daughter. Also my baby sister (nursekim), her friend and her son will be coming for their fist Chritmas with us. That will make 14 for dinner. I am so looking forward to this. I love Christmas.
Saturday we will sleep in, read any books we got for Christmas, eat any sweets we got for Christmas, have leftovers for dinner and go to bed happy and relaxed.
