No Supper for Me Tonight

This will be the 5th day in a row that I haven't cooked supper. I'm eating fine. I'm just not doing any cooking. DH left to work out of town on Monday morning and he just got back today. Tonight is the office Christmas party and yes, I realize it's still November but supper is included so there will be no cooking for me tonight either.
Now, we all know how much I enjoy socializing....NOT! My stomach cramps have already started. I doubt if I'll be able to fit into the nice top I bought for this occaision. I doubt if I'll be able to squeeze myself into the girdle I expected to wear to make the top appear to fit me. I can't find the black sweater that I wore last year so I KNOW that fits me. The gifts for the gift exchange haven't been wrapped. The cats are running low on food. I delivered my papers this morning and I'm all sweaty......Darn, I can't think of any more reasons as to why I should stay home.
Speaking of delivering papers.....Last week one of my customers stuck her head out the window and asked if these papers are supposed to be delivered on Thursday. The only time I deliver papers on Thursday is in the summer when it's still light out after 6pm. I don't get the papers delivered to me until after 5pm. I told her I had a deadline of 5pm on Fridays to deliver the papers and she said, "But Zellers starts their sales on Fridays." I wanted to tell her she was welcome to walk the two blocks, in the dark, to the newspaper office and pick up her own copy on Thursday evenings but it would have come out really sarcastically so instead I said, "Fridays! I didn't know that. Thank you." and went on my merry way. The bloody sale fliers are so thick and numerous I'm having trouble pushing and wiggling them through the mail slots. I only have one route and in the summer the papers only just came to the top of my granny cart. The last two weeks have seen me dragging an overloaded granny cart with an almost full delivary bag slung across my shoulder. Today I couldn't fit the remainer of the papers in the bag and ended up making two trips that eaqualed two full granny carts worth of papers and sale fliers. I will be so glad when the Christmas and New Year's sales are over with. At least it wasn't raining.
