Queen for a Night
Queen for a Night
Nova Scotia has some truly beautiful lodgings. One B & B we stayed at had antiques galore. The was no particular theme. In the livingroom there was an old style English pram with the big wheels and a parasol lying on top while the upstairs hall boasted some Egyptian artwork on the walls and bookcases full of vintage books. It was wonderful and I wanted to explore every inch of it but it was very dark inside. Our hostess kept the heavy drapes drawn to keep out the heat of the day and her belief in saving energy prevented the use of lamp light during the day time hours. I would love to stay there again sometime with a powerful flashlight.
Another beautiful place we stayed was the Blomidon Inn in Wolfville where I felt like a queen.

We arrived too late for Afternoon Tea but dinner and breakfast were sumptuous. We splurged and took the Canard Room because it had a jacuzzi bath.

There is about two inches from the top of the bed posts to the ceiling.......I checked. The top of the mattress was so far off the floor they provided a stool to assist you getting into the queen size bed.
In the morning we wandered through the gardens that surrounded the Inn
Next door to the Blomidon Inn was a big old house that was used as the gift shop. Each room had a different theme; children, Christmas, gifts for men, ladies clothing, jewelry, kitchenware, cats and so on.

I was in Heaven. Fortunately we didn't have any spare room in our suitcases because the prices were out of this world.
This is a picture of the Queen Anne Inn in Annapolis Royal. We didn't stay here. We just took a picture to compare with the Blomidon. Maybe the next time we're in Nova Scotia we'll splurge at the Queen Anne.
