are still being thwarted by the powers that be. Yesterday I managed to get to the grocery store and the drug store but I haven't been sleeping well and was too tired to travel any further afield so I thought no problem I'll just finish my shopping Friday afternoon. At 12.45 I was all primped and preened and ready to go when the phone rang. It was the electrician who was going to install some track lighting in the stairwell, fix the front porch motion sensor and replace the ballast in the kitchen light. He said he'd be here in about 30 minutes and I acquiesced as he had tried to come on Wednesday but I'd told him I was too busy and I'm tired of preparing supper by the light of the range hood. He didn't arrive until just after 2:30. So, here I sit, in the basement because he has his ladder and tools set up in the stairwell. I would kill for a cup of coffee. If I'd thought to bring my keys and a pair of shoes down here I could escape out the back door and come back in the front door but I didn't.
I have new plans. Not about the shopping but about the basement. It is already completely finished with a gym, rec room with gas fireplace, bathroom and office. Every room is carpeted except the bathroom. I love my basement. All we need down here is a little bar fridge, a coffee maker and some supplies. Then I could live down here indefinitely.
Maybe I'll go shopping tomorrow.
