I hear a vehicle stop in front of my house. I hear the vehicle door slam shut, my gate squeak open and a happy soul begins whistling as he clomps up my front steps and knocks on the door. Opening the door I find our neighbour from the next street over holding out an envelope. As I take it from him he explains that it was delivered to his house by mistake and he opened it without realizing it wasn't his mail. Then he compounds his lie with, "I don't know what's in it." Now I'm thinking, but you opened it. How could you NOT see what was in it? Do you have dealings with that particular bank? Did you recognize the bank's logo emblazoned on the envelope? If not, why did you open it? Exactly when did you realize it wasn't your mail? Was it before you opened it or after you read my husband's full name on his business account's statement. Did you get a gander at the balance? I'm sure you did. I hope it's a lot more than is in your bank account. I hope you're green with envy. This is the same man who was well known at the local A&W for ordering 3 burgers, two fries and two shakes and driving away only to return a few minutes later complaining he only got 2 burgers in the take out bag and demanding his third burger. We really need to move to a better neighbourhood.
