MATERIALS: A - Green – 250g/9 oz worsted weight cotton yarn
B - Red/tan/white variegated – 200g/7 oz worsted weight
cotton yarn
C - Red – 200g/7 oz worsted weight cotton yarn
1 darning needle
1 5mm/H/8 US crochet hook

SIZE: 50cm X 74cm/ 20 in X 29 in

TENSION: 20 sts & 26 rows with 6.5mm/10.5 US needles = 10 cm/4
inches

INSTRUCTIONS:
Working with yarn doubled:
With colour A cast on 60 stitches.
Bottom Border – Knit 12 rows.
*Keeping first and last 9 sts in colour A for side boarders – Knit 20 sts in colour B, knit 2 sts in colour A, knit 20 sts in colour C.
Continue knitting every row in colours stated for 30 rows.
Knit 4 rows in colour A.
Keeping first and last 9 sts in colour A for side boarders – Knit 20 sts in colour C, knit 2 sts in colour A, knit 20 sts in colour B.
Continue knitting every row in colours stated for 30 rows.*
Repeat from * to * once.
Knit 12 rows in colour A.
Cast off.
Darn in ends.

Optional: Crochet single chain along the edges of the mat.
