Tomorrow we'll be scrounging up boxes to pack away our stuff. This is going to be one huge endeavour. Everything that can be packed in a box or is manageable enough to carry will be moved from the upstairs to the downstairs and it must all be done ASAP. My years of working on DH for new flooring have finally paid off. All the carpeting in the livingroom, hallways, bedrooms and stairs will be removed and replaced with wood laminate. All the linoleum in the kitchen, front hall, downstairs hall and both bathrooms will be replaced with fresh, new linoleum and our dining room will change from lino to laminate. Besides looking wonderful, I'm hoping that getting rid of the carpeting will improve my allergies. If not, at least it will be easier to keep clean. No more cat hair hiding in the corners or against the walls. I had a choice between a new car or the house renovations and since we have decided to stay here until we are too old and decrepit to care for the house and yard I chose the latter. Once the work is done we can move back upstairs. I will be posting before, during and after pictures.
