Leaf Shawl

It's almost done. I noticed a little hole where there shouldn't be so as soon as I fix that I can start trying to figure out what type of yarn I used. I bought a case of large cones of this spring green, shimmery thread on eBay years ago. My educated guess was that it was a cotton/rayon blend and I plied several strands together to make a fine (fingering weight) yarn I could knit with. When I soaked the shawl and squeezed out the excess water it felt quite smooshy; similar to my silk shawl. After I blocked it and it had dried it was a little crispy, also similar to my silk shawl. So now I'm wondering if it's a cotton/silk or a silk/rayon blend. I performed a burn test on a piece of the yarn but I couldn't smell anything with this cold. It didn't react to the flame as silk should but I'm pretty sure this is a 50/50 blend. My next step is to knit a little sample (swatch) and see if it will accept an acid dye. If it does it's probably silk and if it doesn't it's most likely cotton. If it's silk I can ask a higher price. I don't care what it is. I love the silky feel of this shawl and will be knitting one for myself.
