I tried to heat proof my home today. I've covered all the uncurtained windows with cardboard and installed a bamboo blind over the opaque glass window beside the front door. From mid-morning to almost sundown all doors and windows will be closed with curtains and blinds drawn shut. I'm hoping it will help this weekend. Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to be 32C/90F. That is a heat wave around here. Hot! Hot! Hot! So you can imagine my reaction when I discovered Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be 37C/99F and Monday 38C/100F. We have no A/C and no pool. I don't think I have ever felt 38C before.....well, maybe when we lived in Kamloops but we had A/C and I was younger then. It's supposed to cool off to 31C/88F on Tuesday but that's what they said about Monday, yesterday. I need ice cream.
