I'm no coffee connoisseur but this is ridiculous. The other day I noticed the inside of my kettle is beginning to rust. It looks rather unappetizing so I've started heating the water for my coffee in the microwave. I have also been using some new mugs I bought, that are black inside. This morning I got up, filled my mug with water and nuked it for two minutes. Upon removing my mug from the microwave I stirred in a heaping teaspoon of decaffeinated instant coffee and took it downstairs to enjoy while I knit. It wasn't that enjoyable as I hadn't got the water hot enough so an hour later I went back upstairs, determined to make a HOT mug of coffee this time. First I nuked it for two minutes, ten seconds. Too cold. Then I nuked it for another 20 seconds. Better but.....just ten more seconds. Now it's hot enough. So I took it downstairs and turned on the computer. I was almost finished an e-mail to my mother and my coffee when I realized it didn't taste quite right. I took another tentative sip, lowing the level to 1/4 cup, and it dawned on me that I had forgotten to add the instant coffee to my mug of hot water. It's not like the milk and sugar masked the non-coffee flavour. I take mine black. Yup, it's going to be one of those days.
