It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

No, I'm not writing another short story. I'm describing what my night has been like. I've been awake since 8:30 yesterday morning. I've been knitting like a fiend and when 4:30 am rolled around I had to decide if I should make some sort of effort to get some sleep or just put on a pot of coffee; the real stuff, with caffeine, made in a coffee maker. I guess you know what my decision was. Good thing I didn't have any plans for today.
I'm getting behind with my knitting blogging so here is my catch up:

I used a very thick, unspun wool called White Buffalo to knit these slippers. That's why I call them Buffalo Slippers. This is the lady's size and I also knit a pair for DH who often complains of cold feet.......his, not mine.

Buffalo wool is no longer being produced and is getting hard to come by. This little Buffalo Toque will fit a 2 - 5 year old. The lanolin in the wool makes it virtually waterproof.

Here's another Goin' Green Shopping Bag. I can use up a lot of my cotton making these.

I have also knit toques and matching mittens for the five year old and three month old grandsons but I forgot to take pictures before I handed them over. I'll try to get photos tomorr.........I mean later today.

Our flooring renovations have stalled. DH pulled up the carpets in the guest room and my craft room. He also pulled a muscle in his back. He's had almost a week to rest it and figures he can tackle the master bedroom carpet on Saturday. While he's pulling more muscles I might go to the local Craft Fair or grocery shopping......anything to get out of the house. I think the flooring store is waiting until all of our flooring has arrived before coming out to lay it. I keep thinking of things I want to knit and then I remember most of my yarn is packed up and stashed in our basement gym.

Here's one corner of the gym.

You can just see a bit of my weight machine; the bench press handles and the rowing handles. My yarn stash is in there somewhere. :o{

This is the other side of the room. There's only a little bit of space left and there are still so many boxes to fill and bring down. What's really depressing is the thought that I have to put everything back after the floors are done.

I guess I've rambled enough for now. The sun will be rising in an hour and a half. What a shame it's cloudy and pouring rain. I love watching the sun come up.
