For my first shawl of my shawl mode mood I chose something easy from a book I bought some years ago, Traditional Knitted Lace Shawls by Martha Waterman. I had actually started this same shawl shortly after getting the book but I never finished it and as I haven't seen it in years (not even when we moved everything downstairs for the new floor) I suspect I put it in a "safe place". I also seem to remember I used mohair yarn so maybe that "place" wasn't so safe and the moths have eaten it.
I used almost two balls of the Noro Sock yarn I previously blogged about. I used the top ball and most of the bottom ball.
This is the shawl, just off the needles, laid out on my blocking board.
Here is the too small shawl severly blocked. It should have a nice, smooth, curve to the edge but I don't have the proper pins and these dressmaker's pins were giving me a blister on my thumb. Note Angel's disapproving glare. I have never been and never will be a perfectionist!
Pretty.
This photo shows the truest colours.
Now you can see the little fans in the shawl.
I can't wait to wear it.

Very pretty. I love shawls, and hadn't thought of a rounded shape for one. The little fans remind me of the bubbled knit fabric that I loved in the 70s.
