Tomato aspic is a tradition with my dad's side of the family, and I'm pleased to be reminded of it. Mr. Troutbend doesn't like it, but he's not here, so I could make some any time I got a hankering for it.

I wouldn't touch it when I was a kid. Vegetable jello was unnatural. Now I enjoy it with a dollop of Hellmann's Light Mayonnaise.

From top left, there was shrimp, potato salad, ambrosia salad, deviled eggs, a fish, tomato aspic and smoked salmon.
