Another young lady died as a result of the Indiana St. Fair stage collapse. What an awful tragedy. We're reminded of it every day.
And, it seems, we are perpetually told that "everything happens for a reason". Really--every thing happens for a reason? I, for one, don't believe that for a second. Neither does my golfing friend, Pastor Ed.
Over and over again, I've heard statements to that affect as they pertain to the fair accident. Now surely, "god" didn't cause this weather related tragedy "for a reason". I realize people try to turn a bad event into something positive, but this is totally illogical.
Reversing the statement makes more sense: There is a reason everything happens. It makes it no less palatable to accept the fact that s**t happens. It's an ugly world out there. People die from many different causes. It's not necessary to rationalize or sugar coat the evils of life. We don't need reasons or explanations of lifes negatives. Cry, pay respects, say you're sorry, move on.

Briefly, all is well on the home front. I haven't heard a peep in over a week from new friend, Lynn. Hmm. I've been busy with yard and garden, firewood (cut up a truck load yest.), and golfing. I took over for my daughter Emily at the city market Sat. morning. That was stressful, but I managed not to screw up. My dog bite is all healed up. Now it's time to request money for my doctor visits. My blueberry plants that cost me $70 are dying. That's upsetting. What am I doing wrong? There must be a reason, tee hee.
Have a good one, all.
