Daylight Saving Time starts today. Can Spring be far behind? I'm ready to emerge from hibernation. Let the foraging season begin.
It's been a long, cold, snowy winter in these parts (IN). I don't need to tell you that. I've rarely gone out. Two weeks in Jan. in Florida's panhandle was some respite, but since it was cold there, too, it wasn't much more than a change of scenery.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I've tried to keep busy with keeping the home fires burning, quite literally. Lots of snow to shovel, although if I don't go anywhere, there's no need. I've been reading through my late mother's diaries, some 70 years worth! It's a mixture of tedium, discoveries and insights. It was fun reading about her teen years, my parent's courtship, my early days, etc., etc. I'm up to 1959, so I have a ways to go yet. You want the weather for a certain date in the 30's, 40's, 50's? I've got it!
My winter routine has included exercise, reading, piano, computer, and babysitting grandkids. My father will be 96 at the end of this month. (I'll be 71--ugh.) No health issues that I'm aware of for either of us.
So bring on the warm weather, gardening, and golf! I'm ready and eager.
