Daylight Saving Time starts today. Can Spring be far behind? I'm ready to emerge from hibernation. Let the foraging season begin.
It's been a long, cold, snowy winter in these parts (IN). I don't need to tell you that. I've rarely gone out. Two weeks in Jan. in Florida's panhandle was some respite, but since it was cold there, too, it wasn't much more than a change of scenery.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I've tried to keep busy with keeping the home fires burning, quite literally. Lots of snow to shovel, although if I don't go anywhere, there's no need. I've been reading through my late mother's diaries, some 70 years worth! It's a mixture of tedium, discoveries and insights. It was fun reading about her teen years, my parent's courtship, my early days, etc., etc. I'm up to 1959, so I have a ways to go yet. You want the weather for a certain date in the 30's, 40's, 50's? I've got it!
My winter routine has included exercise, reading, piano, computer, and babysitting grandkids. My father will be 96 at the end of this month. (I'll be 71--ugh.) No health issues that I'm aware of for either of us.
So bring on the warm weather, gardening, and golf! I'm ready and eager.

Yes, mid January was record cold for Florida! Wish I could hear you play the piano.

Our snow finally melted. We had 80" of snow this year. Usually we get 25". Yesterday it was 60; back to 30 today for the rest of the week with snow on three of the next five days. Just a little bit, I hope. Good news that we all survived this awful winter. Happy spring!

Sending hope that soon Spring will dawn for all of us still knee-deep in snow. Expecting another 6-8 inches tomorrow night into Wednesday. Soon we won't be housebound! What a long cold winter....

Good to know all is well — Happy Birthdays to you and your Dad!

Hi and pleased to know you and Dad are in good health. The weather here has been chilly, but not as bad as in other years when fish died in water too cold for them. The time shift is a nuisance. We should just have daylight saving all year 'round.

Finally, it's above freezing here but it's going to be interesting how all this snow melts and where it goes...

We've had 28 mornings below 0 since January. Still snow on the ground, then comes mud, but it will be light til 7 and the sun (when it manages to shine) is warm! You're right, spring can't be far behind.

The long, hard winter of our lives. I am the recipient of permanent back strain. Come on, Spring!
