A Visit to Emergency

I had to wait in line for the triage nurse and I had to wait in the waiting room for a doctor while a yesterday's day surgery patient, who couldn't sit down because he was in so much pain and a fellow who had been, literally, run over by a motorcycle jumped the line. All this waiting just to be told I have severe Bursitis with a frozen shoulder. The nurse gave me a shot in the derriere. The doctor gave me a couple of prescriptions and then I got to wait for DH to come and get me. I don't know what the shot was for. It didn't seem to do anything. The prescription Ibuprofen has helped a little and I'm just waiting for the Tylenol 3's to kick in. Normally, waiting doesn't bother me. The longer I wait, the more knitting I get done. However, today, my left arm was busy being held tightly to my chest by my right hand as that was the only position that did not cause me excruciating pain. Just letting my arm dangle at my side felt like it was being pulled out of it's socket. Now, I'm not a big crybaby. I have always been proud of my ability to switch on my Vulcan side but, sniff, this, sob, goes above and beyond anything I have ever experienced before.

I CAN"T KNIT!
