I finished this little outfit a few days ago. I found this pattern in an old Beehive book and thought it was very pretty in spite of the photo being black and white. I would have preferred peach ribbon instead of the twisted yarn ties and peach buttons instead of the pearly white but I live in Hicksville where beggars can't be choosers. I knit it for my next grandchild. DD#1 and her hubby don't want to know if it's a girl or a boy until the big day so I need to knit twice as many items. I'm currently working on a teal cardigan with leather buttons in the event our 8th grandchild is a boy, as DD#1 feels it probably is. I'm not taking her word for it though. All through my pregnancy with DD#2 I was sure she was a boy. It was very similar to my pregnancy with my son and very different to my pregnancy with DD#1. When the doctor announced she was a girl I almost asked him to check again. Anyway, as I already have five grandsons and only two granddaughters, one of which I rarely see, I'm hoping for another girl.
