Last week DH came home and told me he had signed himself up to bring potato salad to a pot luck dinner one of his volunteer groups is having tonight. I let him know right away I wasn't going. It has nothing to do with me and I'm not feeling very sociable this week. He said that was OK and I really don't think he cares whether or not I attend these social functions. Then I asked him when he was planning on making this potato salad as he's been putting in a lot of overtime lately. He said he was going to prepare it on Sunday. So I told him that's another reason for me not to go......food poisoning! Then he said he'd just have to leave work early to come home and make it the day of the dinner. DH come home early? Mr Perpetually Late come home early? After I stopped laughing I said, "Ya, riiiiight. OK." I then set about changing the dish from potato salad to macaroni salad because my potato salad never turns out quite right. I always seem to over cook the spuds and end up with mush salad. He agreed to the change in menu but kept insisting he would be home early to prepare it. Oh dear! Look at the time. Excuse me while I go make a macaroni salad.
