Idiots and Morons

Apparently I didn't have food poisoning. I don't think food poisoning lasts, on and off for four days. Whatever it was, I hope I gave it to Dr Duck's (quack) locum, Dr Newbie. I had an appointment for that yearly check up I haven't had in three plus years and Dr Duck, as usual, is on vacation for a couple of months (must be nice). Dr Newbie was filling in for him and I think I may have been his first patient. He was quite nervous and kept asking permission to examine my bits and pieces. He wasn't very gentle but he did tell me everything looked good, health wise; something Dr Duck never does. I always feel like I'm at death's door after seeing Dr Duck. Anyway, I asked Dr Newbie for another prescription for my blood pressure pills and one for Reactine (known as Zyrtec in the US) for my allergies. He asked if the Reactine was 20mg and I told him I wasn't sure but I did know it was twice what you can buy off the shelf. He whipped out his little hand held computer thingy and tapped at it with his pen, then wrote up the prescription. Why didn't he check my file, that was right under his nose, to see what dose I was prescribed last year? Because he's an idiot.
Wednesday I went to Shopper's Drug Mart to get my prescriptions filled. Yesterday I went to Walmart and bought a box of my usual store brand Reactine; 72 pills for $22.00. I noticed then that the dose was 10mg so Dr Newbie was right on with the 20mg question. Later, I took my prescriptions out of the bag and discovered my Reactine prescription was only 10mg. WTF? I could and did buy the exact same pills in Walmart. The prescription pills had cost me 60 pills for $48.00. Why did Shoppers Drug Mart fill that prescription without question? Why didn't they call me and ask if it was correct? Because they are morons.
