Dr Duck is Wrong Again

About four years ago I noticed the bottoms of my toes were going numb. Not long after, I realized the numbness was spreading to the balls of my feet and told Dr Duck about it. He didn't even look at my feet but implied the numbness was a result of my weight and ordered a test for diabetes. The test results were negative but the lack of sensation on the bottoms of my feet continued to increase so I again told Dr Duck. This time he felt for the pulse in my ankles and placed a tuning fork on various areas of my feet. He finished by stating, "You have very thick callouses on your feet." and dismissed me from the room.
Fortunately for me, a new business had recently opened next door to Dr Duck's office, Happy Soles Foot & Nail Care. I made an appointment for today and after careful examination the Certified Podologist, Paul Kurucz, told me I have Plantar Fasciitis. He also dremeled off most of the callouses and dug out some small corns that were just beginning. I also received a lovely foot massage with moisturizer. Paul, yes, we are on a first name basis, suggested orthotics and recommended I not wear slip-ons or sandals if I don't want to see him again. I think I'll continue to use my extensive collection of slip-on shoes and summer footwear, though. This sweet fellow who looked to be young enough to be my son told me he used to just treat older people but now "our age group" is starting to come in. My only recommendation to him is to get rid of the disgustingly gross foot pictures on the wall behind him.
