My Addiction
On January 9th I started knitting a baby jacket, bonnet and booties. It shouldn't have taken any longer that a week but I still haven't finished the booties.
Over a week ago janeway4eva extended a challenge which I started and then when I discovered what the item I was working on was, fogged it so I could begin again with nicer colours. I haven't even dug those nicer colours out of my stash yet.
I'm working on a pattern for my Baby Love Blanket knit with worsted weight instead of sport weight yarn.
I've started a sheep dishcloth to give my mom when I go to visit her later this week.
I've converted charts to written instructions for some chart challenged people, myself included, trying to work on the Lehmus Shawl.
I've typed up a readable pattern, with pictures, for My Shetland Shawl.
I'm chomping at the bit to design and knit a scarf with the yarn I acquired from this past summer's fibre festival.
I can no longer differentiate between which project is my main one and which are just getting me sidetracked.
Then, of course there are the interruptions by the computer. I have no knitting friends other than here on the computer so if I want to talk about knitterly things I have to be on the computer.
I have to keep my Ravelry page up to date.
I need to check Elann, weekly, for new yarns.
Every Saturday I must check out all the new free patterns on Knittingpatterncentral not to mention the time it takes to print off the patterns I like.
No wonder my stash room never got tidied up. Maybe I should stay off the computer for a week or so and get some knitting finished. Maybe I should stop knitting for a week or so and get some Spring cleaning done but just the thought of NOT knitting makes me want to curl into a ball. I break out in a sweat and start to shake. I haven't hit bottom yet. I'm still enjoying my addiction. Like someone said, "It's more fun than drugs." ;o)
