News and Tidbits

When I got hired at walmart, in August, I needed some new clothes for work. I went to Salvation Army and picked up a couple pair of tan pants. They were in my size. But alas, they did not fit. One pair I couldn't even pull over my hips! Yesterday I decided to try them again. Well now they are too loose! wooohooo! So now I am excited and want to buy a new outfit to wear for Christmas. I saw a cute shirt at walmart. One I would not have worn before weight loss. I might drag Stormy out today to try on clothes. Not that I have to drag her out, I simply mention going somewhere and she is ready. lol We have fun shopping together. She will dance to the Christmas music playing and I found myself doing the same the other night when we all went shopping. She loves Christmas. My house looks beautiful from her decorations. She has tons of ideas for simple decorations.
Sunday it was very windy here and it was about 20 degrees out. It was a bitter cold day. Today its already 64 degrees! Its windy and rainy though. Blech! While waiting for the bus Kota was attempting to fly. He would run across the front yard and jump off a tree stump we have. It was hilarious. The change in his attitude is overwhelming. He is back to the loving carefree child. Every morning right when the bus pulls up, he throws his arms around me and kisses me goodbye.
As for his Christmas list, the main thing he wants is a Nintendo DS. And due to his wonderful grades and behavior I think Santa will bring him one. Yesterday he told me of something else he wants. Either a hamster or a guinea pig. *groan* I will ask the landlord if he will allow that. I know Kota misses our animals. I think the landlord would probably allow a hamster, probably not a guinea pig.
Since we moved in here, there was a problem with the bathroom. The sink and tub drained very slow. We tried to fix it ourselves with drano but it wasn't helping. Hubby called the landlord yesterday and immediately had a plumber out to fix it!
With my work schedule and hubby being in his busy season, we don't see much of each other. Daughter told us what she is getting us for Christmas. A gift card to a restaurant. One that we really like but are not really able to go to anymore. So we will have a date night, just me and hubby!
Yesterday at work I had a couple come in. They had 3 carts full of groceries! Oh my goodness! But they were so nice and helpful. After I was done ringing them up they told me I should take a break after all that work. And I have been pleasantly surprised by the goodness of people. Over the weekend I had a lady come up to me and ask if I had seen this older couple, she described them to me. Now this was on sunday when it was so windy and cold. She explained they had been walking to walmart and she gave them a ride. She told them to wait for her and she would drive them home. She was desperate to find them so they wouldn't be walking home. She told me the lady was even walking with a walker. Well sentimental fool that I am, I had tears in my eyes.
My buddies John and Jake seem to be on a mission to harass me as much as possible. They have discovered how easy it is to sneak up on me and scare the crap out of me. And they laugh hysterically when I jump out of my shoes. I am trying to think of a way to get even with them. But seriously, I love how they pick on me. It really breaks up my day and they always make me laugh. You would not believe the crazy conversations we have. From stories about hamsters that fight to the death, to how anyone who has played the Joker in batman movies has really gone mad.
I must get busy cleaning now! There is laundry calling my name. I will try and check in with you all today!

You really seem to have a wonderful landlord! He is wonderful to be so quick to respond to trouble. A lot of landlords don't do that.
Enjoy using your Christmas gift. You guys deserve it.
How exciting about the clothes situation.

Things are really on the up and up for you girl! So happy to hear it!!! So you can have no animals at your new house? That's gotta be hard for you all, but a hamster sure would be a nice distraction hey?
