A Funny Thing Happened in the Grocery

I usually go to Aldi's early on Wednesday to get their
specials...this week it was strawberries and blueberries
for a buck.

I heard this 92 year old man trying to put the make on a
nice slim lady of 78. They sere exchanging ages but she
was cringing a little at the attention. They discussed
the senior citizen's center for a bit and he told her he
was a WWII veteran and that there was a big picture of
himself with his son on it at the Senior Center. This was
a very loud conversation since both had hearing problems.
.
She was obviously extremely unwilling to continue the conversation . He was hell bent on pursuit. When they
got to the checkout line, he pulled out a juice harp and
played a lively tune. He said, "That was for lover's you
know." She said, "I recognized it." She loaded up her
groceries and fled. I had empathy for both of them but
I kind of had to appreciate his valor.

That reminded me that I am overdue for a trip to Aldi's. That story about the older couple was touching. How alone he must feel. Likely most of the people he ever knew have already passed on.

I picked 3 quarts of wild black raspberries a couple of days ago. And my reds are coming on. Strawberry season was a flop. I noticed Aldi's 99cent strawberries sold fast. I shopped there yest, but didn't have the "excitement " you had!

Our Aldi's is often entertaining. I wish I had a big bowl of raspberries.

I have blueberries frozen from last year so will make a pie for an upcoming potluck.

Ted absolutely loves blueberries. I guess we will have blueberry waffles.

It is never too late for love at first sight.

He'll get lucky sooner or later! Around here, at least, there is a man shortage by the age of 70. Nice to know a super-geezer still has an interest. Yup, encouraging!

He probably has someone else stashed away at the senior center.

I love how you add that it was a loud conversation. I dunno why but that made me chuckle. Poor guy, I think it's cool he tried!

Let's give him an a plus for trying.

Those specials sound great. Like I tell Ed, I could get gummed to death on our street.

I like getting back home before the heat knocks you down. Be careful on
your street. Bad love!

Oh, that is too funny! We have a couple here in our complex who have a hot romance going right now. She is hard of hearing and a bit already on the flaky side. He takes care of her to be sure she doesn't get lost. They can be really funny sometimes.

Yes, it is!

You have to wonder if they still see themselves as youngsters. Love is
sweet at any age.

Love is in the air I guess.Good buys on the berries.

The air is so hot this days, you wonder how it survives. Yes, we try to
eat more berries because of the antioxidants and I always pick some up
for Ellie too. She misses raspberries a lot. They grow wild in
Russia.
